Minimise Energy and Co2 Emissions

We encourage staff to car share and sometimes cycle to work while keeping our supplier miles to a minimum by using local suppliers whenever possible. We install low energy lighting wherever possible.

While working through strategies to carefully monitor and ensure that our emissions remain carbon neutral or negative, we offset our carbon emissions with tree planting projects.

 

Protect our Forest and the Biodiversity they support

We aim to use only the most sustainably and responsibly sourced timber from certified suppliers. We use recycled paper and also try to operate a predominantly paperless office using e-sign documents and digital design presentations. While ensuring the planting and maintenance of trees with each kitchen we supply, we help to rebuild Pune’s forest cover by supporting tree planting projects and deforestation prevention projects. We minimise our use of products containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as paint, which have a harmful impact on climate change, environmental pollution and human health. We use materials with low VOCs and always opt for the least harmful material, process and finish to help protect air quality, people and the planet.

 

Generate Minimum Waste

Our sawdust is used for composting. All timber off-cuts are sent to a scrap store for donations to schools and clubs. Deliveries to site use very little packaging, which is returned and recycled. We design high-quality products to last by using materials with the highest possible recycled content and well-established recycling streams. Wherever we can, we minimise materials so that the fewest resources are used and the least waste is generated. We keep our plastic footprint as small as possible, opting for renewable materials wherever we can.

Our modules are built primarily from wood and we are obsessed about procuring materials from responsible suppliers. Our kitchens are built to last a lifetime, though you can invite us back whenever you want for maintenance and a quick tune-up to keep your kitchen in new condition.
